F&I solutions provider RSR Global is teaming up with Solutions Into Motion (SIM)—the operators of Trackem and WhereSafe GPS—to offer a real-time GPS solution to Canadian dealers.
Known as Globalhalo, the companies worked together to develop a model that is attractive to dealers from a margin perspective, creating a GPS package that will work for dealers in terms of profit and loss (P&L).
“We’ve been playing in the location-based space for a while now and after significant research, testing and vetting, are happy to have formalized a partnership with SIM, who are a well-established provider of world class GPS tracking solutions,” said Amanda Paetkau, Vice President of Strategy & Innovation.
RSR Global describes Globalhalo as a “cost-effective GPS tracking offering” for dealers to resell to consumers. The solution includes a portable magnetic and rechargeable or hardwired GPS tracker, with mobile phone app access to monitor vehicle location.
The service subscription includes all the cellular data needed for two in-motion “pings” per day and in-app mapping. And notifications and alarms through text messages or emails, are available in the system—in case the device is tampered with or the battery is low.
Consumers can also upgrade to use more GPS functions, such as geofences, speed alerts, motion detection, and two-minute ping intervals for real-time instant tracking, according to the company.
“Making noise in the dealer space has been a goal of ours for years and we’ve had some recent success,” said Conrad Galambos, President at Solutions Into Motion. “That said, this new partnership with RSR Global, who are deeply entrenched with dealers, opens that door much wider.”
