Cox Automotive Canada’s team members raised more than $12,000 thanks to their attempt to “Climb Every Mountain” by walking a combined total of more than two million steps in support of Make-A-Wish Canada.
The event marks the first time the Canadian division of Cox Automotive joined its international colleagues in the campaign to raise money in their respective countries for their regional Make-A-Wish foundations. More than 100 team members took part in the effort.
“I’m so proud of our Cox Automotive Canada team members for stepping up and raising funds for such an incredible cause so Make-A-Wish Canada can continue granting wishes to children who really need a little happiness,” said Cox Automotive’s Maria Soklis.
Soklis said corporate social responsibility is an important value that the company is committed to: “caring for people in need within our communities and driving positive change.”
Alyson Geary, Director of National Corporate Alliances for Make-A-Wish Canada, said they were excited to see people come together and raise funds for the foundation.
“This has been a challenging time and we are thrilled that employee groups across Canada are looking for ways to unite and make a difference,” said Geary. “The Climb Every Mountain event was a perfect way to come together, raise critical funds and provide hope for so many wish children across Canada.”
Raising money for charities during the pandemic has not been easy, particularly in 2020, but various members of the automotive industry along with suppliers/providers have pushed forward to help raise money for important causes.
